Cabin vacations - cozy, rustic or luxurious

Find that little home away from home.

Cabin vacations are lot more fun and cozy than just a hotel room.

Wishing you could find just the right secluded cabin for your honeymoon or anniversary? They come in many styles from cozy to luxurious to rustic. They can be found in the mountains, near lakes, or on the beaches, and there's a size for every family.

What is it about little cabins that piques our curiosity? I know they certainly pique mine. I want to see inside immediately. How is it decorated and what amenities does it have? Is it rustic, modern, deluxe, comfy? Does it have a fireplace, kitchen, hot tub?

Don't they just seem more private or secluded, as opposed to a hotel room or a lodge? I think so too. So I'm always looking for a vacation spot with these miniature homes-away-from-home.

Since I have spent a lot of time searching for these little cottages or bungalows for cabin vacations, I'm going to share some of my favorites with you.

Pleasant Valley Cabins & Campground in Colorado
We stumbled across these cute cabins on our way to another destination. They area located near Cimarron, Colorado. Enjoy the scenic lake and river, and the wind blowing through the trees shading big expanses of lawn. Fall asleep to the music of the Little Cimarron River just outside your open window.

Grand Lake Lodge in Colorado
The cabins are rustic to say the least - and cozy, with no TV. But the lodge - now that's another story. Although it too is rustic, it is also elegant. There are fantastic views from the surrounding windows. Relax in the sturdy porch swings where you can sit for hours sipping a drink or just daydreaming as you gaze out over Grand Lake.
