You'll love a getaway in the rustic cabins at Grand Lake Lodge...

Leave your electronics at home.
A getaway in these rustic cabins at the Grand Lake Lodge, located in Rocky Mountain National Park, means no TVs, no phones, and no radios. People who stay there don't care. And that includes us!

Grand Lake, Colorado Surrounded by tall pines, melodious bird calls and scurrying chipmunks, these little cottages are the perfect place for that quiet, peaceful night's sleep you've been longing for.

But don't spend all your time sleeping. There are plenty of activities to keep everyone from being bored. There's a heated pool, soothing hot tub, horseback rides, volleyball court, basketball court, horseshoes, playground for the kids, a picnic area with charcoal grills, golf nearby, hundreds of miles of hiking trails and mountain biking trails, white water rafting, boating and fishing.

Oh, and wait until you see inside the lodge! Their famous circular fireplace surrounded by rocking chairs is the perfect place to sit on those cool mountain evenings. There is also musical entertainment happening nearly every night of the season in the bar area. I almost forgot the first-class restaurant! It's open for every breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Need a souvenir? Or just love a warm jacket, sweatshirt, or special Colorado or western trinket? Stop by the Lodge Gift Shop. You won't be disappointed in the large selection.

Go down the Lodge front steps and you'll find the recreation room with board and video games, ping pong, and a pool table. (And laundry facilities if that is your idea of vacation fun, or just plain necessary!)

One of my very favorite areas in the whole place - the front porch! It spans the front of the Lodge and is lined with large wooden chairs and swings. From that vantage point, you can people-watch (the pool and a deck are close by). Or you can extend your gaze further and take in the beauty and serenity of Grand Lake and Shadow Mountain Reservoir. Now that's a view!

Here's a map to help you find these delightful cabins.
