Cottonwood Hot Springs
Buena Vista, Colorado

Cottonwood Hot Springs, Buena Vista, CO

What would you rather do on a cold winter weekend - shovel snow - or soak in hot springs surrounded by snow-covered mountains under a canopy of stars?

I know what I would choose and I bet you would too. So let’s zip up to Buena Vista, CO, and then up into the San Isabel National Forest a few miles. There you will find Cottonwood Hot Springs, a relaxing, comfortable country inn nestled in the majestic Collegiate Peaks Range.

The Cottonwood Creek runs parallel to the soaking ponds and feeds the cold water into the hot, giving the three ponds different temperatures to suit each visitor.

Historically noted for their medicinal and therapeutic value, the springs were used for centuries by the Ute Indians as a spiritual gathering retreat. Ever since, people have come from all over the country to soak in the curative waters.

It is an "adult oriented" although children are allowed but must vacate the pools at dark.

It's a rustic place with no frills - no phones, no TVs. The beds and pillows are exceptionally comfortable. Rooms are available in the lodge and there are also cabins, each with their own private soaking pool.

Their focus is on the healing aspects of their water, various therapies and a soothing atmosphere. Massage services of all types are available.

For complete information, open times, directions, etc. visit Cottonwood Hot Springs website.
